Sporting Ride from Deserts to Oasis

This horseback riding tour combines different levels of difficulty and varied landscapes. It starts from the ranch and come back to ranch. This tour is possible from Octobre to end of April, with a minimum of 2 riders and a maximum of 4.
This trip is designed for experienced riders who are comfortable and able to keep control in all gaits (speed and direction) and have good horse riding skills on various types of terrain. It is recommended to have a good level of physical fitness. Long sessions with gait are on program, on average, expect 5 hours of sportive ride per day.
Please note that the sporting intensity of this ride will gradually increase from D1 to D3. As a result of climatic changes, extreme drought and the difference in altitude, the ground is particularly hard and does not allow for long, rhythmic sessions for the horses. However, you will be able to enjoy some incredible views!
Some tracks and paths may require riders to dismount to assist their horses in difficult passages with significant elevation changes.
The itinerary includes beach crossings, but the duration and gaits used will depend on the tide level.
You will ride well-trained and physically fit horses, equipped with top-quality and recently renewed gear.
While offering comfort through a carefully selected range of hotels and guesthouses, this trek is fully immersed in the deep and authentic Morocco, far from the typical tourist routes.
What surprises our riders the most? The opportunity to traverse different landscapes every day! Deserts of Rock, sand and dunes, you will cross many oasis to ending on the beach for a grand final.
The management of the ranch and the horseback riding tours is handled by qualified professionals with many years of experience in equestrian activities.
For the trek, it is advisable to bring sunscreen, lip balm with high SPF, a blouse with a collar and long sleeves, a lightweight scarf to protect your neck and décolleté, comfortable riding pants, chaps, and shoes that allow for comfortable walking. Water is provided, and helmets are available for your use (please advise us in advance and give us your size).
TRAVEL BOOK
Day 1 – Arrival in Agadir
You will be welcomed at Agadir airport and transferred by taxi to the ranch
Upon arrival, you will discover the ranch, a green oasis where you will spend the evening and the night. You can enjoy the gardens and terraces with views of the sea and mountains.
You will have opportunity to meet the team and the horses while enjoying a delicious of Moroccan tea.
Day 2 – Ranch - Laouina
After a good breakfast, we prepare our mounts and leave the Ranch for this first day of hiking. The day begins with a trot climb to reach the mountains overlooking the Ranch and the ocean. We cross Berber villages and come across shepherds and their flocks.
You will enjoy a picnic under the argan trees.
In the afternoon, we leave the mountains with a quieter rythm which allows us to admir a beautifull view on the Tiznit plain.
You will spend the night at the ranch.
Day 3 – Laouina - Ouijane
From Laouina we trot to an oasis which brings us shade and freshness, following the canals, an ancestral irrigation technique. After crossing the village and a break at the spring to quench the horses' thirst, we enter an arid stone desert, with the mountain as a backdrop.
For lunch, we stop in a village where we can admire the old constructions of typical adobe houses. Then let’s set off again to attack this rock desert! We pass a few palm trees and cross wadis before seeing the village of Ouijane and its century-old olive trees forest.
After a maze of alleys and shaded paths, we arrive at Valérie and Michel’s place. You will enjoy the swimming pool before spending the night in traditional chaima tents (possibility of reserving a Kaïdal tent with private toilets, at an additional cost)
Day 4 – Ouijane – Assounfou
From Ouijane we take a pretty track overlooking the wadi and alow nice gaites

After the picnic with a view of the argan plantations and the rocky cliffs, we go for an afternoon which crosses the villages on the foot of o the mountains.
Evening and night in a comfortable hotel lost at the gates of the “little Sahara”.
Day 5 – Assounfou – Massa palm grove
Direction to Massa with a fast-paced day and nice gaites.
For beginning the day we cross the sand dunes. We then follow the Massa wadi, the largest in the Souss region.
Lunch near from the large farms, then we reach Massa crossing ancestral cultures along the donkey paths, which have shaped the landscape of their work for centuries. Water gives rise to luxuriant life in this delta which contrasts with the arid landscapes crossed previously.
We reach our hotel, where you can enjoy the swimming pool for a moment of relaxation before dinner with a view of the palm grove.
Day 6 – Massa palm grove – Berber Village
We leave Massa to reach the coast via the tracks which cross desert landscapes and allow us good gaites
Lunch with a dunes view.
Magnificent galloping tracks allow us to cross a new sandy desert to the lodge run by a Berber family. Traditions and good mood!
Day 7 – Berber village – Le Ranch
For this last day of hiking, we finish crossing the desert to the fishing port of Aglou
Lunch « feet in the water » on the beach
Return towards the Ranch galloping along the beach with 15km of fine sand!
On arrival at the Ranch, you participate in the horses cares, and can enjoy a well-deserved massage (extra with appointment).
The copious Friday couscous will end this week with a grand final!
Day 8 – Return flight from Agadir
Day of departure: depending on the flight time, you have the option to take a trip to Mirleft or Tiznit or to enjoy the services of our masseuse/beautician who willl pleased too relive any muscle soreness
Afterwards, you will be transferred to agadir Airport for your retrun flight, with memories to cherish
All hikes are accomanied by at least one guide, a cook, a 4 by 4 stewardship and mobile kitchen and more if large group
